Martin Durivage has worked with architects for 30 years. He is known for his passion for architecture and facade design. He has been creating, managing and delivering optimal Saint-Gobain Glass Facade specifications for 6 years. Low Carbon Glass will now be a part of the language for optimal Glass Facade design and specifications. Martin will guide you through this new and unique opportunity!

Lisa leads the teams in Eckersley O’Callaghan’s San Francisco and Los Angeles offices. She joined EOC in 2013 to support the practice’s emerging facade engineering group in London and played a significant role in the group’s exceptional growth.

In 2017 Lisa moved to San Francisco to grow our studio and it’s presence on the West Coast after spending significant amount of project-related time in the Bay-Area over the previous years.

Responsible for the successful expansion of our West Coast presence, in 2020 Lisa established a new office for the practice in Los Angeles and leads many of the group’s most challenging projects including high profile corporate campuses in California working with Google, Apple and LinkedIn.

Through her education and relationships within the European Facade Network, she remains heavily involved in academia and has built strong links between research and industry.

Lisa has the responsibility for directing Eckersley O’Callaghan’s R&D efforts globally, focusing on innovative glass design and technology which maintain the practice’s position as leaders in the field, but also identifying new fields of research including a variety of materials and novel analysis approaches.

Lisa is also part of the Facade Research Group at TU Delft, where she carried out her doctoral research with focus on transparent glass connections.

Vincent Davenport obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering degree from the University of Toronto. He has been with EllisDon for over 10 years where he has worked on dozens of complex projects from coast to coast. Vincent currently leads the EllisDon Building and Material Sciences Department, a team of engineers and material experts who provide internal technical expertise on Materials Sciences, Building Sciences, Modular Construction and Emerging Construction Technologies across the EllisDon portfolio. They are currently supporting the delivery of over 50 projects across Canada, along with leading the charge on a few large-scale R&D projects aimed at developing low-carbon building systems.

Alex Josephson co-founded PARTISANS in 2012 after studying architecture at the University of Waterloo and Rome, and the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA). Alex is a native of Toronto. Prior to starting PARTISANS, Alex worked in the studio of Doriana and Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome. Known for his rigorous commitment to PARTISANS' design vision and his ingenuity in finding high impact, Alex brings a strong creative vision for the rapidly-growing city of Toronto.

In addition to his work with PARTISANS, Alex is a lecturer and core faculty member at the University of Toronto’s Daniels School of Architecture. He frequently writes and speaks on the future of architecture, design, and cities internationally. He is also a guest contributor to Azure Magazine. As a registered architect in Ontario, he has received numerous accolades through the years -- he was named 2015 Best Emerging Designer by Canada’s Design Exchange, awarded Globe & Mail Catalyst award for Design, and has the distinction of being the only Canadian to ever have received the New York Prize Fellowship at the Van Alen Institute.

Teodor Caragioiu is a Façade Specialist at Reynaers Aluminium in Duffel, Belgium, with over 16 years of successful experience in façade engineering and design for high-rise, high-performance projects.

Graduated from the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, Romania in 2002 with a Bachelor of Engineering in Concrete Bridges.

Between 2002 and 2006 Teodor worked as a concrete structures formwork technical engineer.

In 2006 he started his career in the Façade industry, working with the largest façade contractor in Nicosia, Cyprus, on large scale, high-profile projects like Tradewinds Towers in Gibraltar, Tower 25 by Jean Nouvel in Nicosia, or the Olympic Residences twin towers in Limassol, the tallest structures in Cyprus at the time. In the period spent in Cyprus he developed skills in façade fabrication, detailing, installation and project management.

In 2014 he moved to Belgium and started working for the leading European façade systems supplier Reynaers Aluminium as a project engineer, designing customized façade project solutions for large scale projects like The Quad Towers in Malta, The Al Fattan and Boulevard Heights towers in Dubai, The 589 Fulton Tower in NYC, and many other high-profile projects throughout USA, Europe, China, Middle East and Australia. He is the specialist in structural façade design, with competences in high-performance air-water tightness and high wind zones applications, with a focus on thermal performance and architectural design.

Dean has a 30-year history in the building materials and construction industry ranging from quality management to senior sales management focused on the building envelope. His approach is solution based and consultative. Dean provides practical knowledge to help with design assist and material selections for projects. He has a keen interest in innovative materials and application methods for use on commercial façade projects.

Dr. Huang is currently the technical director of Architectural Glass Division of CSG which is the leading low-e glass manufacturer in China. With over eighteen years’ experience in energy efficient glass for buildings, Dr. Huang has worked on numerous landmark buildings at different locations in the world for glazing solutions, and participated in many related Chinese code activities. He is experienced in specifying glass performance to provide proper guidance for energy efficiency design of buildings and in new product development.

Jeff Ker’s 30+ years of technical sales experience with the Ontario Architectural and Design community benefit each project he undertakes. His experience includes two years in the West-Coast market and eleven years in the Eastern-Canadian market; representing a variety of RVRS systems. With a solid background in technical sales, project management and liaison with the construction community; Jeff enjoys a tireless passion with matters of a technical nature in his personal and professional life.

Jeff Ker is a regular speaker at Construct Canada, including speaking engagements at Contech (Montreal), CEBQ(Quebec), World Design Summit, ZAK World of Facades, RAiNA, Toronto CSC Building Expo, Buildex Vancouver, CSC Vancouver & Halifax in addition to various installation seminars.

Peter Dushenski is the Managing Director of GlasCurtain, a 100% Canadian-owned and operated curtain wall manufacturer that specializes in fiberglass-framed systems. Peter joined the company in 2013 just before the commercial product launch at Greenbuild 2013 in Philadelphia. Since then he's lead the company to several industry firsts including the highest thermally performing curtain wall in the world based on Passive House (PHI) certification - rated to 0.60 W/m2K. Peter has previously been invited to speak at the Canada-EU Green Building Forum in Brussels, Belgium, at Ecobuild in London, UK, at Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) National Conference, at Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) National Conference, at BUILDEX Vancouver, and BUILDEX Alberta. Peter lives in Edmonton, is happily married and the proud father of two little boys.

Partner and Architect Frans de Witte joined MVRDV in 1996.

As director of MVRDV’s Americas studio, he is currently overseeing projects in North and South America, and also in the Netherlands. Examples of those projects are the six residential towers comprising The Hills in Ecuador, as well as The Modernist in Rotterdam, the Glass Mural in Detroit, residential developments in Boston, Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, and laboratory buildings in Toronto and Shanghai.

Frans is supervisor of Flight Forum in Eindhoven, and greatly experienced in construction projects. Completed MVRDV projects on which he has worked include Silodam in Amsterdam (2003), the Balancing Barn in Suffolk (2010), Glass Farm in Schijndel (2013), the 27,200 square meter high-rise Radio Tower and Hotel in Manhattan (2022), the sustainable, fully demountable office and laboratory complex Matrix ONE in Amsterdam, and the mixed-use Mission Rock building in San Francisco (2023).

Ken Maschke joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2004 and is responsible for the Renewal and Forensics practices in Canada. An expert in structural rehabilitation, recladding, adaptive reuse, and failure investigation, Ken applies the latest technology to his practice. His work on historic structures has often presented the opportunity to explore design and repair with archaic materials. He is passionate about revitalizing existing buildings to realize long-term sustainability.

Ravneet brings nearly a decade of experience in the glass industry, specializing in facade glass solutions. Her journey has taken her across continents, collaborating with architects, designers, and marketing teams in India, the Middle East, France, and now Canada. Ravneet firmly believes in the importance of innovation and its role in shaping the future of architecture. With her expertise, she guides architects in selecting the most suitable glass products for their projects, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functional excellence.

Ken Wright is the Sustainability Programme Manager at Reynaers Aluminium focused on integrating sustainability at the core of the business. Having a background in the automotive and building industry for more than 10 years, gaining experience in transformative projects such as electrification, digitalization and sustainability. For the last 3 years Ken has been working on the international sustainability strategy and the upcoming European sustainability reporting standard for large businesses (CSRD). ‘Together for Better’ is our company’s motto. And this we want to achieve on the level of sustainability as well. We want to be a trusted partner in achieving our partners’ sustainability ambitions and grow together. Together with our partners we want to focus on energy-efficient, circular and low-carbon products that make a difference to homes, buildings and the people.

Giles joined Foster + Partners in 1989 and has worked on an extensive range of projects both in the UK and overseas. During his career, he has developed extensive experience of designing within historic environments, most noticeably the award winning Great Court at the British Museum. The juxtaposition of contemporary and historic design has been a constant fascination to him, and he looks to draw lessons from traditional construction techniques to see how they can inform contemporary design solutions.

As a Product Manager and Professional Engineer at Flynn, Joe specializes in building envelope products to enhance building performance. His role involves design development and strategic implementation of various Flynn designed systems. With a significant focus on Flynn's modular wall system, Speedwall, Joe is dedicated to bringing innovative building solutions to market.

Dustin Tran has over 20 years of experience in various fields ranging from architectural design and construction management to façade engineering. Dustin has participated in hundreds of prestigious projects both domestically and internationally, taking on various roles from construction coordination to design management and construction execution (D&B).

With his specialized knowledge and extensive experience, Dustin understands that a perfect project must ensure functionality, architectural aesthetics, and sustainability. Among these, the façade is one of the most important elements, likened to the skin of the building and the soulful windows of the city.

Todd Hallam has over 28 years of domestic and international Project Management experience, primarily managing custom curtain wall systems and global sourcing of curtain wall systems, glass and custom-made architectural metal systems.

For the past six years, Todd has been working as the Project Manager for the Construction Management team responsible for the building envelope trades for The One (1 Bloor Street West). Throughout this project he has been working with trades using overseas suppliers and, for the past year, has been working directly with BM Windows to manufacture and supply the curtain wall system for The One.

Previously, as a Project Manager for some major curtain wall contractors in North America, Todd has worked with overseas suppliers and subcontract manufacturers of curtain wall systems and custom architectural metals systems as part of the supply chain.

Sathya is the Director of Building Science for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area at EXP, the leading group of our building science practice that was established in 1978 and currently has 60 building science staff across three offices with extensive and varied expertise. Sathya has accumulated experience in consulting and research in building science over his 24-year career, focusing on durability, resiliency, and energy efficiency of building envelope systems. He has offered consulting services on a broad range of new construction and restoration projects, including residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings, built throughout North America. With an undergraduate degree in architecture and a graduate degree in building science, he has solid knowledge of the fundamental principles that govern the performance and control of elements, the choice and composition of building systems, the characteristics of materials, and the rules that regulate the design and construction of systems. Sathya was recently chosen by The Alberta Association of Architects to deliver a building envelope course module on the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings to their members as part of their Professional Development. Sathya is a voting member of the ASTM International E06 committee for Performance of Buildings.

Dr. Lacasse is a SRO and previous Team leader of the BEM/FSP Group. He undertakes both strategic and collaborative research related to building facades and fenestration, is responsible for both maintaining & advancing the team’s research capabilities, developing business opportunities and training and mentoring HQP. He is a widely recognized expert in the durability of building materials & building elements and the moisture management of building enclosures having authored over 173 peer-reviewed articles & 125 technical reports, over the course of his more than 30-year career at the NRC. He has fostered research collaboration with local academia as well as internationally. He has played an important role in industry having influenced code and standard development in respect to resistance to deterioration of building assemblies, where his work has helped develop both CSA and ISO standards on durability. Under his guidance, the FSP Team has, over the past 6 years, published in excess of 164 peer-reviewed journal or conference papers. He has trained/mentored over 20 HQPs.

David Altenhofen, East Coast Director for the Building Enclosure practice at RWDI, is a highly experienced building enclosure specialist, with a portfolio that encompasses projects of all scales and complexities – from residences to high-tech facilities. In addition to his work with clients, David contributes actively to the wider field of technical building design, sharing his extensive design and technical insights through a range of committees, publications, courses and lectures. Our clients benefit from David’s rich understanding of building enclosure approaches and how they intersect with broader architectural, sustainability and scientific considerations.

Craig Applegath is an award-winning architect, urban designer and biologist practicing at the intersection of the built environment and natural ecosystems.

Craig plans and designs buildings, campuses, and communities that are zero-carbon and climate adaptive, and is an international expert on climate mitigation and adaptation through sustainable and resilient design strategies. Craig’s recent work integrates mass timber in the design of zero-carbon colleges and universities, and affordable modular housing.

Craig is the Founding Partner of DIALOG’s Toronto studio. He earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Toronto (UofT), a Bachelor of Architecture from Dalhousie University, and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Ongoing university teaching work includes a Climate Change Adaptation Seminar at the UofT’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture.

Craig writes and speaks internationally about his research and design explorations. Recent conferences and workshops include the AIA 2022 National Conference and the CTBUH Hybrid Conference in 2022.

Amy Montgomery is an Associate and Building Science Engineer on the RDH Toronto team. She brings her experience in building science and building energy analysis from projects across North America. Amy’s current focus is on supporting the design and construction of high-performance new buildings and the rehabilitation of existing buildings. She has a particular interest in the preservation of historic and heritage buildings.

Charles joined our team a decade ago and immediately started pushing the limits of our sustainability and building performance work. Leading project teams across Canada, he has set ambitious targets and exceeded project goals for environmental sustainability and community wellbeing. With a background in mechanical engineering, Charles always stays grounded in the technical details of his project work. He encourages his teams to innovate and explore new ways of reducing energy use and carbon emissions. Charles has been a core contributor to some of our most exciting sustainability projects, breaking through barriers in net-zero energy and carbon-neutral design.

Luka Matutinovic is a Co-Founder and Principal at Purpose Building, a firm specialising in accelerating real estate to planet-positive performance. Luka has nearly 20 years of experience in guiding project teams and organizations towards healthier, lower-carbon buildings that are financially successful. His passion is combining design, analytics and communications to inspire confidence that something better is always possible. He is a member of ULI Toronto’s Program Committee, past Vice-President of the Canadian Chapter of the International Building Performance Simulation Association, a frequent technical advisor for the CaGBC Zero Carbon Standard and helped develop ASHRAE Standard 209 for the Energy-Simulation Aided Design for Buildings. Luka has served in a variety of management and technical leadership roles on more than 150 new and existing building projects in nearly all sectors.

Amaury Greig was born in 1981 in Prince Rupert, Canada. He obtained degrees in Geography from the University of Victoria and Political Science from the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po) prior to studying Architecture at the University of British Columbia. Following several years working in Canada then France, Amaury joined RPBW in 2012 to work on the Paris Courthouse and did so from design phases through to completion leading on interiors. In 2016 he was Lead Architect for the successful New Toronto Courthouse Competition and he led the project through to completion becoming RPBW Associate in 2018.

After leading several other competitions and projects in Europe, Israel, and Canada, in 2022 he was named Director of Operations taking on a firm-wide role overseeing office operations and leading business development for RPBW.

David Clusiau is a leader, visionary and distinguished architect whose designs have shaped the built environment for more than 35 years. As Vice President of Design at NORR, David works across multiple sectors, providing strategic direction and design leadership for both large complex projects and small-scale assignments, working collaboratively with clients and partners to find an inspired and appropriate vision.David champions the design conversation within the firm, leading the internal NORR Design Forum and actively mentoring the firm’s next generation of designers. He is the founding chair of the Canadian Academy of Architecture for Justice, Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, member of the Metrolinx Design Review Panel and Chair of the City of Hamilton Design Review Panel. David was the Courthouse expert and NORR design leader on the Ontario Court of Justice: Façade Design for Meaning, Performance, and Value, Toronto.
