Anine is a Calgary based Architect registered with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA). She is an Associate and the Business Development Lead at Gravity Architecture, delivering projects across Western Canada. With more than 15 years of experience spanning procurement, design, and construction, her work focuses on educational, retail, and residential environments.

Anine serves on the Board of Directors for the Consulting Architects of Alberta (CAA), contributes to the CAA Procurement and Contracts Committee, and is a member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s (RAIC) Fees and Procurement Working Group (FPWG). Through these roles, she actively advances national dialogue on fair, transparent, and effective procurement practices.

She holds two professional master’s degrees in Architecture and Construction Project Management and maintains an active research portfolio examining procurement models, fee structures, and contracting practices within Alberta’s construction industry.

Brian is a Founder, Principal, and Senior Building Science Specialist at RDH Building Science Inc. Brian has over 30 years' experience as a consultant practicing exclusively in the field of building science.   Brian is a practical Facade engineer and researcher. He has a unique blend of theoretical and hands-on knowledge gained from designing Facades and fenestration systems for new buildings,  as well as completing hundreds of forensic investigations,  rehabilitation and research projects. Brian has extensive experience with high-rise and Iconic façade systems, components, and materials and has designed new and innovative facade systems for high-rise wood and passive house projects.

Christian Flores brings 10 years of experience in building science consulting in a broad scope of projects ranging from building rehabilitation to new construction. He specializes in building envelope consulting for high-performance enclosures in new developments and in decarbonization deep energy retrofits. He is passionate about decarbonizing our building stock by solving complex building envelope problems.

As a Project Director, he has focused his career on the execution and realization of heritage conservation projects across Canada. In recent years, Chris has been integrally involved with several high-profile conservation projects in the City of Calgary, as well as in eastern and northern Canada. Throughout his career, he has experience participating and managing the complex coordination involved at each stage of a project leading large consultant teams, from project startup to construction. With these projects, Chris has developed a passion for the exploration of innovative interventions into existing buildings with mindful impacts to conservation. Beginning from a background in visual art and sculpture, his interest in material properties, techniques and usage are of particular interest when approaching a conservation project from design through construction. Chris continues to participate in the discussion of how heritage projects actively contribute to the built environment and their place in our changing society.

David Leonard is a building science leader with over 18 years of experience spanning specialty contracting, engineering consulting, architectural practice leadership, and academia. He is the Managing Principal at METAFOR Architecture, an Alberta based architecture, building envelope, and interior design practice focused on resilient, high performance buildings.

David has experience in adaptive reuse and complex renovation projects, where existing buildings often span multiple construction eras, materials, and performance expectations. His work focuses on quickly understanding legacy construction systems, identifying hidden risks, and translating technical findings into clear, actionable decisions for owners and project teams. By bridging historical construction logic with contemporary performance goals, he helps clients manage technical risk while supporting cost certainty and long term asset value.

With deep expertise in building envelope systems including thermal modeling, air and water tightness testing, advanced cladding design, and constructability analysis, David is known for translating complex technical insight into practical strategies that support informed investment and delivery decisions. Equally important, he places a strong emphasis on teaching and mentoring multidisciplinary teams so architects, engineers, and contractors share a common understanding of risks, opportunities, and trade offs as projects evolve.

Jeff Ker’s 30+ years of technical sales experience with the Ontario Architectural and Design community benefit each project he undertakes. His experience includes two years in the West-Coast market and eleven years in the Eastern-Canadian market; representing a variety of RVRS systems. With a solid background in technical sales, project management and liaison with the construction community; Jeff enjoys a tireless passion with matters of a technical nature in his personal and professional life. Jeff Ker is a regular speaker at Construct Canada, including speaking engagements at Contech(Montreal), CEBQ(Quebec), World Design Summit, Toronto CSC Building Expo, Buildex Vancouver, CSC Vancouver & Halifax in addition to various installation seminars.

Joel Schwartz is a Principal in Building Science and President at JRS Engineering. With over 30 years of building science experience, Joel brings a depth of knowledge and expertise in high-performance, durable building envelope design. Joel’s robust portfolio includes extensive experience in new construction, façade, and fenestration engineering. His comprehensive background has made him a sought-after expert in litigation support, second opinions, and specialized technical consulting. Throughout his career, Joel has remained dedicated to the advancement of the industry. His contributions include serving as Chair of the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia’s Building Enclosure Committee and a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia’s Building Envelope Committee. Additionally, Joel served as President of the British Columbia Building Envelope Council. Currently, he is a voting member of the Standing Committee on Environmental Separation (Part 5) for development of the 2025 National Building Code of Canada.

John Brown, PhD is Professor of Architecture and Dean of the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the University of Calgary. He is a registered architect and founding partner of the residential design/build firm Housebrand and more recently, Garden Loft, a start-up venture delivering new forms of prefabricated supportive housing. John is a past president of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada is currently serving as the Senior Vice-President of the Commonwealth Association of Architects.

Jordi Marasse is Project Consultant Manager North America at Reynaers Aluminum. For the last 4 years Jordi has been coordinating the North American projects. Kelly joined the CMLC team in 2019. In her role as Vice President of Building & Infrastructure, Kelly is leading the delivery of the master plan vision for East Village and The Culture + Entertainment District through her oversight of key city-building infrastructure and vertical building projects, including the BMO Centre Expansion, 17th Avenue S.E. Extension & Victoria Park/Stampede Station Rebuild, Stampede Trail, and the Arts Commons and Olympic Plaza Transformation projects.

Kelly’s wealth of multidisciplinary experience includes design, construction and project management. Prior to joining CMLC, Kelly led the design team at the City of Calgary and was responsible for the delivery of capital projects within the City’s Facility Management Department. Before joining the public sector, Kelly gained experience as a leader and practicing designer at architectural and interior design firms.

Driven by a passion for life-long learning and city-building, Kelly holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria, a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Architecture, a Diploma in Architectural Technologies from SAIT, and a Project Management certificate from Mount Royal University.

Kevin Bridgman has contributed to the design and development of many of KPMB’s most recognized projects in Canada and the United States. With three decades at the firm, Kevin has deep and diverse experience and he leads multidisciplinary teams of architects and specialists through collaborative processes to create award-winning designs.Recognized for his talent and versatility as a designer, his portfolio spans all typologies and sectors, including academic, adaptive reuse, civic, corporate, cultural, hospitality, master planning, residential, and workplace strategy. Notable projects include the Governor General’s Medal-winning James Stewart Centre for Mathematics at McMaster University, Vaughan City Hall, and the Duan Family Center for Computing & Data Sciences at Boston University. His work on the long-term master plan, feasibility studies, and strategic transformation of Lloyd Hall — the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity’s premier hotel accommodation — has enhanced the destination’s appeal for artists and cultural leaders. Building on the success of Lloyd Hall, he also led the phased renovation and expansion of the Banff Centre’s Performing Arts and Learning Complex. In Calgary, Kevin is also working on the expansion and modernization of the Werklund Centre (formerly Arts Commons), the city’s largest arts venue.He served as design partner for the Downsview Framework Plan, a 520-acre redevelopment in north Toronto, in collaboration with Henning Larsen Architects and SLA. An award-winning master plan, it intertwines the built environment and nature to create a unique urban development form that honours the site’s unique natural geography and deep history. It sets a new standard for healthy and inclusive urban life, with sustainability and resilience woven into its fabric. Kevin spoke about the Downsview Framework Plan at AZURE Magazine’s Human/Nature conference, sharing insights on phased community consultation and crafting design principles for a series of connected, vibrant, and healthy communities supported by sustainable urban systems.

Kyle Auch is an associate at DIALOG whose work brings together design thinking, technical precision, and project leadership. As project architect and contract administrator for the transformation of the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, he has helped lead the realization of a major cultural project in which architecture, façade, materiality, and construction are deeply connected.

Known for his attention to detail and calm leadership, Kyle brings a thoughtful and practical perspective to complex projects. His broader work includes large, multidisciplinary projects such as Calgary’s new event centre, ScotiaPlace. Across projects, Kyle brings a thoughtful perspective on architecture as both a technical and social act, with a strong interest in inclusive, accessible design and in creating buildings that support connection, identity, and community. 

Guiding clients and teams successfully through the design process to deliver meaningful projects has been Léo’s priority over the course of his 25 years in architecture. His collaborative, client-focused approach has fueled the delivery of many award-winning projects throughout his career, and he brings this level of leadership to each of Stantec’s education design teams as the Company’s sector leader for Education.

These projects include the Student Union Building at MacEwan University (SAMU), the University of Calgary School of Veterinary Medicine Clinical Skills Building Addition, the NAIT Centre for Applied Technology, and the University of Calgary’s West Campus Development Trust’s “The Ivy” housing development.

Lisa Gibson is a Principal with Colliers Project Leaders in Calgary, where she plays an active role on the local leadership team, contributing to operational excellence, business development, and strategic initiatives that shape the region’s project delivery practices. With experience spanning owners, general contractors, and owner’s representative consulting, Lisa brings a 360‑degree perspective to navigating complexity within the built environment. Lisa’s diverse academic and professional credentials further reinforce her multidisciplinary approach and strengthen her ability to bridge strategic, technical, and human‑centered perspectives in the built environment. Her passions and expertise include sustainability, lean methodologies, continuous improvement, diversity and inclusion, and mental health and wellness in construction and design. Maxim Olshevsky, as CEO of Astra Group and Peoplefirst Developments, brings over two decades of expertise in the real estate and construction sectors, with a specialized focus on breathing new life into overlooked properties. As the visionary founder, his strategic direction and operational acumen have been pivotal in revitalizing multifamily, industrial, and commercial properties.

Currently, Maxim's primary focus is the conversion of vacant office towers into affordable, accessible, and energy-efficient multifamily properties. This vision reflects his personal commitment to enhancing urban living and contributing to the sustainable development of Downtown Calgary. Through his forward-thinking leadership and commitment to community and environmental well-being, Maxim continues to make a lasting mark on Calgary, showcasing his dedication to creating spaces that serve the greater good.

Michael Dub is a Principal at Dub Architects in Edmonton. Dub Architects seeks out the complexities of urban sites and mature neighborhoods. They pursue bold and distinctive design that responds to existing conditions, and their range of work is deliberately diverse but often includes the adaptive re-use of historic or outmoded buildings. Michael's recent current work includes public realm projects, affordable and supportive housing, several mixed-use towers, and community-oriented projects such as libraries and public recreation facilities. He received his professional degree from The Cooper Union in New York and joined Dub Architects in 2005.

Michael Henderson, Principal at hcma architecture + design, helps shape projects that bring people together, from recreation and wellness centres to housing that strengthens community life.

Guided by a belief that good design goes beyond form, Michael’s work focuses on empathy, strategy, and impact. He brings people together around shared goals and translates complex challenges into clear, purposeful outcomes.

His recent and ongoing projects include the Regina Indoor Aquatic Centre, Wascana Outdoor Pool, Coronation Park Sport and Recreation Centre, 800 Commercial Drive non-market housing, and Squamish Nation Headquarters Feasibility Study. Past award-winning work includes the Hillcrest Centre (Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Curling Centre), Minoru Centre for Active Living, and Complexe Sportif de Ville Saint-Laurent.

Mike Vanderveen is the Emerging Markets Manager at Lumon North America. A former student of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, he joined Lumon in 2015 to support installations and has overseen Lumon’s rapidly growing dealer segment since 2021. As the leader of this small-but-mighty team, Mike shares his knowledge of engineering and installations through in-depth product education for small business owners, architects and developers.

Mira is a Design Engineer with RJC’s Building Science & Restoration team. After four years on the Dean’s List and an internship, she graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. At RJC, she supports building envelope and structural restoration projects through project coordination, contract administration, and field review. Recognized by the National Fenestration Rating Council for her high competence in thermal modelling of fenestration, Mira brings an energetic, clever, and collaborative approach to complex facade challenges.

In her presentation, “Facade Air Tightness & Quantifying Air Leakage Rates in Commercial Facades,” Mira shares practical methods to characterize and reduce air leakage, drawing on diagnostic testing and on‑site experience to deliver actionable guidance for owners, designers, and contractors.

Paul Carter brings 20 years of experience in building envelope design and evaluation, with projects ranging from new façades to complex retrofits. He is passionate about decarbonization and envelope performance, and brings a practical understanding of constructability and cost. Paul focuses on solutions that deliver energy efficiency, occupant comfort and durability, while bringing beauty to the built environment.

Peter Dushenski is the Managing Director of Canada-based GlasCurtain inc., the leading manufacturer of fibreglass-framed curtain wall systems. Since 2013, he's lead the company to several industry firsts including the world's highest thermally-performing glazed curtain wall based on Passive House (PHI) certification - rated to 0.60 W/m2K - while growing the company's installer network to over 35 partners across North America. Peter has previously been invited to speak at the Canada-EU Green Building Forum in Brussels, Belgium, at Ecobuild in London, UK, at Performance-Based Façade Design in Venice, Italy, at Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) National Conference, and Passive House Canada National Conference. In addition to curtain wall, Peter's passions include history, philosophy, and staying active with his young family.

Rob Clement brings over two decades of experience specializing in large and complex building programs and types. His work can be characterized by the pursuit of transfiguring a concept into a memorable environment that positively impacts the experience of all who visit and interact with space.

Rob’s expertise ranges from conceptual design to final construction. His most recent experience is on the notable first ground-up Google Bay View Campus and BMO Centre expansion. In addition to designing places that bring people together, Robert enjoys attending live sporting and music events in his spare time.

Steve Wirzba is a Senior Development Consultant with the Downtown Strategy team at the City of Calgary. With a background in community planning, Steve brings experience in development application review and land use bylaw interpretation to this dynamic and proactive team. He has been involved with the Downtown Calgary Office Conversion Program since its inception, liaising with development partners, catalyzing implementation of multiple phases of projects, and now working to vision the future of the program. Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies degree from the University of Calgary.

Tyler Hall joined KPMB in 2015 and approaches architecture with a focus on how thoughtful design enhances experience and addresses social and environmental challenges. His work spans cultural, academic, civic, corporate, and hospitality projects, including Lloyd Hall at Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, Boston University’s Center for Computing & Data Sciences, corporate workplace interiors, and most recently, the transformation of Arts Commons in Calgary.

Tyler has played an instrumental role in design development, overseeing studies and producing digital models and construction drawings that advance collaboration with project partners. His attention to detail and rigor in process support successful navigation of municipal approvals and engagement with urban design committees and stakeholders.

Guided by a commitment to craft and purpose, Tyler believes that massing, materiality, composition, and technical detailing must meaningfully shape the experiential qualities of place and contribute positively to community and the built environment.
